Making your own hummus is super easy, more delicious & less expensive than the store bought stuff. Not to mention you also avoid any potential not-so-healthy-additives that may be in the store bought containers.

It’s a healthy way to add more flavour to sandwiches or wraps, or to be used as a dip for veggies, crackers or falafels. I’ve been known to also add it to foods that don’t traditionally involve hummus like with my breakfast hash, on my salmon, or I’ll just straight up dip big ol kale leaves in it (usually resulting in some strange looks from my roommates).

So here is my recipe:

  • 410 ml. Can of Organic Chick Peas (drained and rinsed)
  • 1/4 Cup of Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 Cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/3 Cup of Water (give or take depending on how think you like your hummus.. and how good your blender is)
  • 1/4 tbs Cumin
  • 2 Fresh Garlic Cloves (minced)
  • Salt n Pepper to taste

Combine all the ingredients in the blender and puree until its smooth. Easy as pie.
